Introducing a Small Project Demonstrating the Viability of New Ideas on How to Approach Sustainable Development

Today's urgent needs for new thinking must blend individual creativity with collective processes in innovative ways. Proven models and methods offer new hope for transforming systemically biased institutions into empowering ones. A key element missing in virtually all efforts mounted to date concerns crucial opportunities for enhanced communication opened up by advanced mathematical modeling. These models allow us to simplify highly complex technical processes in tools useful to people everywhere, globally.

Technically speaking, parameterizing multilevel complex systems allows us to connect locally unique improvisations, consensus standards for shared languages, and conceptual ideals in systems, metasystems, and paradigms. These hierarchically complex systems are distributed across allied stakeholder sectors in ways that project dynamic, evolving shared social realities.

No other initiative possesses a vision so clearly applying the lessons of the past to the creation of a new future. These lessons include:

  • Language is the vehicle of thought; we think and communicate only by means of signs.
  • Mathematics is embedded in language and is not primarily concerned with quantities or equations.
  • Thinking does not occur only in the brain, but is embodied in technical standards materially extended into the world.
  • Meaningful models experimentally tested by data informing instrument calibrations explained by theory learn from the past to predict the future.
  • To be effective, methodical logic must be integrated with an ethics of care and an aesthetic captivation with beauty.
  • A playful, participatory world view of the universe as a home for humanity and life on earth informs productive, ecologizing relational processes.
  • We can harness the power of global demand for change by supplying means for meeting that demand.
  • Responsive participatory institutions empower citizens by extending the existing economy's scientific, legal, communications, and financial infrastructures into new domains.
  • We must care for our technologies as we do our children, respecting and valuing the ethical importance of pregancy and maternal care for both identity and difference.
  • Neuronal encodings of memories in the brain exhibit scale-invariant grid firing patterns structurally analogous to the metrologically distributed scale invariances of measurements communicated in social networks.
  • Cultural progress is a function of the complexity of the simplified cognitive supports built into the social environment.
  • Evolving forms of life--social as well as biological--require genotypes describing reproductively successful phenotypes that possess mutable capacities with potential for being epigenetically amplified by the environment.

With this vision guiding our efforts, we call on you to contribute your skills to planning, resourcing, and incentivizing new ways of meeting the urgent demands of our time. Our intention is for this web site to become the germ of a stem cell differentiating new forms of social life conceived, gestated, midwifed, and nurtured to fulfill human potential, invigorate communities, and sustain the planet.
